A Message From Billy | Respect for the Craft
Creatively bringing a world to life. Our job as actors is to take the world the writer has created for us and to inject our own life into it. As we etch closer towards the schools 20 year milestone, I'm excited to announce that our first monologue nights for 2017 will be presented on Friday the 30th of June and Saturday the 1st of July. The theme for this monologue night is "The Imaginary World". Monologue Night is not only a great opportunity for students to showcase their skills, but also a chance to experiment, fail, and to take a risk and leave it all on the floor. Some students will be walking the boards for the first time whilst others have been there before. I encourage everyone to come along to support their fellow students.
The current group of intermediate and advance students are amongst the most consistent and supportive that we have had in years. They see the bigger picture and have reformed the student committee, which has already had positive results by helping the student body to gel together, they have really been brilliant this year. A reminder that all students are encouraged to take an active role in the committee and get a clearer understanding of the bigger picture.
The school started off with 3 students in a bedroom in Newtown and it was built on the very foundation that you are all experiencing. It was built on love, support, hard work and respect for the craft. I look forward to each student leaving it all out on the floor on Monologue Night, I expect no less. Let's band together and have a great night.
