studied under the great Sanford Meisner,
The Actors Pulse is an acting school specialising in the most modern version
of The Meisner Technique in the country
and incorporates screen acting
and voice classes into the training
program, allowing artists who are seeking professional careers in Film,
Theatre and Television, to keep up with a continuously changing industry.
Acting teachers of both Meisner
and Screen Acting classes have all had personal instruction under Director
of the school, Billy Milionis, and have between them over 20 years of
acting experience nationally and internationally in the entertainment
industry, earning themselves numerous nominations and awards for their
work, such as Australian Film Awards. Head of Voice, Gabrielle Rodgers
(BA of Honors, LTCL and Graduate Diploma - NIDA), incorporates a very
instinctive and structural approach to freeing and understanding your
own voice – an essential tool for any professional working actor and acting
student. Our very affordable voice classes and private voice tutorials
allow actors to train at a high standard and progress from a beginner
level course to a very advance level course.
As well as being a strong and unique drama school, graduates
from The Actors Pulse have formed the Pulse Group Theatre
(PGT), an ensemble group theatre, to produce professional stage plays
- from national and international playwrights - annually. Students currently
enrolled at our acting school have the option to become a member of the
group, giving them hands-on work experience in many areas of a production.
Our acting school is located in Sydney and has three levels.
Studio One – The Playhouse: on
our ground floor, this 70 seat theatre is where all PGT productions are
staged. Studio Two – New York
Theatrette: on the 1st floor of the building, where all drama classes,
story workshops and voice classes are held. Studio Three – Green
Screen Actors Studio: on the 2nd floor, where all camera acting classes,
commercial acting and audition workshops are held. Studio
hire is also available for all three levels.
