Maria Matteo, a graduate of The Actors Pulse, began her career in the entertainment industry at the age of 6 as a singer on kids TV. She had a successful career as a performer appearing in concerts nationally and internationally as well as in musical theatre productions such as ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, ‘Guys and Dolls’ and ‘Singing in the Rain’ before completing her studies in musical theatre at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 1999.
Maria continued performing, however her focus shifted to acting and she relocated to Sydney where she enrolled as a student at The Actors Pulse. She received personal instruction by Billy Milionis and upon graduating in 2004, Maria appeared in the Pulse Group Theatre productions ‘Sunday on the Rocks’, ‘Five Women Wearing The Same Dress’ and ‘Spike Heels’.
Maria has appeared in dozens of TV commercials such as ‘Crunchy Nut’, ‘Panadol’ and ‘San Remo’, and her TV and Film credits include ‘Home and Away’, ‘Comedy Company’, ‘False Witness’ and ‘Under the Pantyline’.
Maria has been an on-going teacher at The Actors Pulse since 2008.
