An L.A.-native, Jeff began in the film industry as an actor at age 12. At the famed acting school The Shop, he studied alongside Hollywood's top young talent with teachers John Homa and Andrew Magarian, and briefly in New York with Flo Greenberg. He has appeared in feature films such as ‘Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead’, ‘Pink Lightning’, ‘Lost Valley’ and ‘6,000 Miles from Hollywood’. His Television credits include ‘Columbo’, ‘Ann Jillian Show’, ‘Sisters’, ‘The Trials of Rosie O’Neill’, ‘Gabriel’s Fire’, ‘Shortland Street’ and ‘Young Hercules’. He has also appeared in dozens of commercials and has performed improvisational theatre with Theatresports (in L.A. and New Zealand), the iMPS, On the Spot, Silage, and Malignant Humour.
In addition to his acting history, Jeff has an extensive production background. He has performed nearly every job on a film production, having worked for companies such as Universal Studios, Castle Rock Entertainment, Concorde/New Horizons (Roger Corman’s company), Propaganda Films, DNA Entertainment, Twin Towers Productions, and Oprah’s Oxygen Network. His first production job was on Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's first music video "Brother for Sale". He has written, directed and produced short films, including ‘The Duel' (winner of the IFC New Filmmaker Award), as well as 'After These Messages’ and ‘The Feed’. He was also the writer and co-producer of ‘6,000 Miles from Hollywood’.
After moving to Australia, Jeff launched Screenplay.com.au to find and develop feature film projects. He has offered his FAST Screenwriting weekend workshop nearly 80 times in 9 cities in 4 countries to over 1,000 participants. He is the author of the best-selling books "Writing FAST: How to Write Anything with Lightning Speed" and the iMovie 08 chapters of the official "Apple Training Series: iLife 08". He also produced and directed "Making Fantastic Short Films", a DVD that won the ATOM Award for "Best Instructional/Training Resource of 2007". He launched the Big Mountain Short Film Festival in New Zealand, and ran it for its first two years, and was invited to sit on the jury of the Kuala Lumpur International Film Festival.
More recently, he has focused on developing feature film and TV projects as a producer, as well as expanding on his directing career. He directed three episodes of "Pacific Beat Street" for New Zealand's TV3, and his first full-length play, "Five Women Wearing the Same Dress" at PGT. Jeff has been an on-going teacher at The Actor’s Pulse since 1999.
